Improving Your Laptop By Doing A Laptop RAM Upgrade

When you're doing a laptop ram upgrade, you'll have to determine what kind of RAM you need for your laptop. Go to Kingston's website, where they have a calculator which will help you determine what your needs are. Just put in your laptop's name and model number and it will tell you.

DDR ram memory is now very cheap ram memory whether you have an HP, Dell, or any other computer. Sometimes particular manufacturers don't use over-the-counter parts, and they design their own annoying module. Dell sometimes does that. But, if you've got most computers, the mother board asks for typical kinds of memory.

When doing a laptop ram upgrade, you'll have to find the door in which the RAM will be put. It's generally on the bottom of the case, and one screw holds it shut. Remove the one screw with the right size jeweler's screwdriver, and you got it open. If you have already purchased over the internet and have verified that the number of pins is correct, determine that the little slots in the edge connector of the memory board (those little gold pins which are along one edge of the memory card) line up properly with the ones it the socket. If they don't match, then its' not the right memory card and you'll have to send it back and try again.

When doing a laptop ram upgrade, make sure the laptop is shut off. If it wasn't and you plugged in the RAM chip, you could blow your computer. Remove the battery just to be sure. Touch your hands on something that's grounded so any static charge that's built-up on your body goes away. Then you can pull the card out of its pink anti-static bag.

A laptop ram upgrade is really quite easy to perform. You just put the board at a 45 degree angle (generally), lay the gold pins in the socket opening, push it sideways into the slot as you press down on the board as if it were on a hinge and it should snap right in. Of course if you've never done it before, you should get someone who has so you don't have to be worried that you'll screw something up.

Once you have installed the laptop ram upgrade, make sure that you put the plastic door back the way it was when you got it, then screw the screw in. I've seen laptops before with no door, and you'll never be able to get a door anything like it if it gets lost, so make sure that it's in a good spot so you won't lose it.

When you turn it on, the computer should boot. If it looks like it's not booting, or if it makes funny beeping sounds, immediately turn off the computer and shut it down. Turn it back over, check the memory that you just put in to make sure that it's pressed all the way down and is secure. Many times the RAM has two holes that two pins have to go through. If you turn it on and it still doesn't boot, but gives out beeping sounds, then stops. Check the screen. It might be telling you that there's a problem with the RAM.

Since a computer loads everything into RAM after you've done a laptop ram upgrade, just before it boots, if there's a problem with RAM, it won't boot. It loads a quick Memory Test and runs it before it even loads the system, so it won't damage anything, usually. If you know you've installed the RAM properly, then there's probably something wrong with the memory board and you'll have to send it back.

Kingston HyperX RAM Modules

By Jeffrey Frasco
Kingston HyperX RAM modules are on top of their game-and a whole lot more. Plus, if it's coming from Kingston, I'm rest very-assured that I've got a good product (unless it happens to be one of those notorious Kingston counterfeits-which I had the distasteful experience of buying a "Kingston DDR2 2 gigabyte modules", only to find out that they were phonies and would not even set-up right in BIOS!). Ok, venting aside, let's take a glance at my friends system, its HyperX modules, and various other offerings from Kingston.

Slow PC - Danger Sign of Low Computer RAM

By Jeffrey Frasco
RAM, or Random Access Memory, is what the computer uses to run programs and applications. Your computer needs RAM to boot, run your operating system and open web pages online. Low computer RAM, or Random Access Memory, is not a healthy condition for your computer. If you do not have enough RAM to load your open applications, you will have a very slow PC that will not be able to run your applications properly.

Dodge Ram Accessories - Aftermarket Purchases For a Dodge Ram Truck

Dodge Ram Accessories add to the style and function of the Dodge Ram truck series. These models of trucks have been popular for their stylish looks for many years; however, many truck owners enjoy fixing up their truck to look different than most others on the road. Some owners simply enjoy making the truck "their own." Many people do not realize all of the options available to spruce up or "pimp" trucks.
